Without FRCOphth your application will be rejected outright. I have done CESR myself and yes it is a difficult route but you will probably not get it if you apply from outside UK. You need to work in the UK for a minimum of 3-4 years to get it. The entire application process is quite long and you have to satisfy each and every learning outcome from multiple credible source.
