The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

The point of a broken bone was pressing uncomfortably into Raum's abdomen, and she wriggled her body slightly to push it down into the pile. Social niceties and decorum were a thing she had long since lost, her life of solitude not often calling upon such things. But it was not beyond her to regain them. Though others might think her a little off kilter - for perhaps she was - Raum was still a rather bright creature. Just in ways that were unconventional. Blinking, she looked over to the silver strapped male, eyes trained upon him as he reclined into a sitting position. Her head cocked slightly, curious about him. Something about him reminded her of the one who had given her the moniker of Murderer, and shared in it with her. Perhaps it was simply that acceptance of her being that she found familiar. For that in and of itself was not something she encountered frequently. Though, neither was conversation when you were more set on gaining a meal than a name.

As he spoke again, she made a subtle adjustment that angled her right ear more towards him, a movement that she had mastered from a young age so as not to be obvious about it. Now it was simply second nature. The useless left pinna flicked out to the side lazily, but her right ear was pricked forward. She shrugged apathetically at his comment about what a shame it was to be tucked away as she was. It was simply her way of survival, and his dallying lost upon her as she had never been courted in any manner her entire life. Though she thought highly of her own appearance, and that of other equally attractive dark pelted creatures, the closest she'd ever come to flirting was in toying with her prey. It was a twisted concept in her mind, as many were.

Her brows lowered at his next words, though, stitching together slightly at what he was implying. She understood it, but such a place had not existed for her in many years. "Hmmmmmmmmmmm," she intoned, "came from a bigger place, long time ago. Ruined." Faint memories of her mother, sire, and plethora of siblings danced in her minds eye, just out of reach. The touch of long grass and the safety of a coastal den. It was fuzzy, hard to recall. "Never last. Someone always comes to take. Take and take and take. This wolf on top, then this one. No one take this," she gestured at their surroundings. This cave was hers, and it was rare that she had to defend it from others. He had his own boneyard - but was he guaranteeing that she wouldn't lose her collection if she added it to his?
