The non trainee doctor does not fill in the GMC training questionnaire and in my experience that is all that consultants care about. That is why they are so nice to the trainee and everyone else gets treated like rubbish.....it is classical two tier discriminatory practice, and if I had the chance I would make it illegal. It is certainly unethical and not within GMC guidelines... to discriminate between your colleagues... I literally had to beg my consultant to complete my appraisal.. they would never behave this way with the CCT trainee...
