Only You Are the Life Among the Dead

From what the snowy white femme could tell she had made another friend in a new pack. She needed to go out and visit other packs more often and not just stay within her own. She loved making new friends and there was no reason to limit herself to just the vargs that shared the same home as her. Khaleesi never thought that she would befriend a vampire, but Diosa showed that they could be no different than any other varg. Why did they have such a bad reputation? She supposed that if only the bad ones were known then that would be why, but there were plenty of bad wolves out there that had no vampire blood within them. She briefly remembered the time that she had been kidnapped by another wolf, a prince even, and he had been no different internally than Kalgalath who had helped to rescue her. Her heart went out to the younger femme when she saw her get upset. She could only imagine what she was going through, to have such a bad reputation follow her for no reason other than the past members of her bloodline. Surely there were others out there like Diosa who wanted to change the reputation that came with the word vampire? But maybe there were not. Maybe this teen was the first of her kind and was trying to hold an entire movement herself. Regardless of if there were others, it still must be tough to bear what she was going through.

The white femme padded forward to the darker colored one, reaching out to try and comfort her. She felt Diosa flinch under her touch, and she froze for a moment, not wanting to cross any boundaries and make things worse with physical contact if that was not what she wanted. But she seemed to be okay with it after a moment, and she shook as she cried. Wrapping her head around the other femme’s neck she embraced her new friend, sadness washing over her as she felt and heard Diosa’s whine under her. Feeling her head nod, Khaleesi lifted her own off the femme, meeting her bright crimson orbs as she spoke again. “Please Khaleesi, I will do whatever it is that I must. And I know that I have a long ways to go, but there is nothing that will stop me.” A warm smile reached her kissers as she looked to her friend. ”I know you will Diosa. It will all work out in the end, and I will be here to help in any way that I can. Others reputations shouldn’t have to haunt your own.” She thought that things were going better when Diosa smiled, but her features suddenly changed. A look of terror crossed her face as her ears pinned to her cranium. Khaleesi could tell that something was wrong, but she had no idea what. Coking her head to the side in confusion, she looked to Diosa to see what was going on. She was suddenly on her paws, physically pushing and shoving the white female towards the border. “Khaleesi, you must go. It’s not safe for you here, I won’t risk her finding you in her frenzied craze. Run Khaleesi, go back to Dierne Hrof!” Her brow furrowed in confusion, what was going on? But this was not her pack, and she would not argue with a ranked wolf, even one who she thought was her friend, telling her to leave. She stepped back over the border, about to speak and ask what was happening, but the dark female had already turned and run back into the territory. Khaleesi had no idea what had happened, but it seemed her visit to Caidir Olc had come to an end, and she turned away from the pack’s border.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Time had passed since the femme had gone out on behalf of Aindreas and the rest of the wolves within Dierne Hrof to see what was going on within Cadir Olc. Enough time for Khaleesi to go through some rather dramatic changes. The femme still looked like herself overall, she was just blessed with snow white feathers speckled with black along her neck and spine. It was something that had taken her time to get used to, but now the feathers were just another part of her being. Khaleesi still thought of the teen she had met, Diosa, and how she was faring, but she was nervous to go back after how things had ended. She was not afraid, not realizing that she could have been in danger there, but she didn’t want to push things too far. She thought that she had read what was okay and what was not, but it was obvious that she had not when Diosa had suddenly reacted so badly and physically pushed her out of the pack. Whatever Khaleesi had done, it had crossed a line. And she didn’t want to cross that line again by going back. But she couldn’t get the femme out of her mind. Diosa had seemed so upset, and she wanted to be there to comfort the younger fae. Everyone needed a friend, especially a vampire that was trying to break a stigma.
Not being able to keep the other femme from her mind, the feathered fae decided to at least head out closer towards the other pack’s lands in hopes of catching a glimpse of Diosa. Maybe everything had worked out and she was happy, or maybe she was still in need of a friend. Loping through the trees, the white femme enjoyed the feeling of the warm summer air on her pelt as it broke through the thick forests. It was a swampier area in Caidir Olc, and she needed to watch where she set her path to not end up in a dangerous area. The scent of the pack was not as strong as other packs, as many of the wolves within this pack had no scent, but she still knew when she had come to the borders and where to not cross over. Audettes perked to the sounds around her, she began to walk along the borders, hoping to catch a glimpse of that familiar dark pelt. But she knew that there was a chance that it wouldn’t happen, and that this trip would have been for nothing.
Khaleesi’s green orb stayed peeled for any signs of Diosa, and she almost let out a cry of joy when she happened to get sight of just the femme she was looking for. She knew that fate was on their side when the two had come to the borders at the same time. Unsure of the best way to approach the situation, Khaleesi slowly approached the pack lands, purposefully making noise by stepping on branches and twigs in hopes that Diosa would hear her approach. ”Diosa? Is that you?” Green orbs anxious and unsure of how this would go after how their last meeting ended, she stayed where she was once she spoke, waiting to see how the other female would react.
