The other male was very observant. Eztli could practically feel his eyes roaming over him, reading his body language, interpreting him like a book to be read. He didn't like it at all. He squirmed, shifting his weight in discomfort, his lips curling up more in distaste. Why was the male staring so much? He could see the scars that showed on his skin around the fur. He wasn't a stranger to violence, yet he was quick to compose himself after his initial reaction to Eztli's approach. Was it because he didn't see Eztli as a threat or because he didn't want to be seen as a threat? Eztli hoped it was the latter. He wanted to be pretty intimidating after all. What kind of assassin wasn't?
He pricked his ears a little as the wolf cleared his throat, his face sobering as if he wanted to take Eztli seriously now. Good. His own brows relaxed a little in satisfaction. Now they were getting somewhere. But it didn't last long. The male went on to chastise him for stalking. His brows lifted in surprise before his gaze turned to daggers again, his tail fluffing up in irritation. "It's called practice. You're in the free lands so consider yourself free game for all kinds of harassment. It's not like I was going to attack you." He snorted in derision. He didn't know what the male was getting at but he had never liked to be lectured or scolded. Just ask his parents. It usually only made him angry and when he was younger, that led to bite marks.
The male watched him carefully before his lips tugged into a grin. Eztli lifted a brow in suspicion immediately. What did he have to grin about? The male chose to ask questions to think about this time and somehow it got through to Eztli in ways the other approaches couldn't. He liked to be challenged so he took a moment to think on it, his gaze averting to his paws before he looked back up, his words less of a question and more of a statement. "Scouting. You're approachable but you have experience and sending one wolf is less threatening. Neutral grounds to see what it's all about." He felt he had to be right in his assumption.
He thought some more before he straightened from his defensive stance. "Take me with you."
