Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Asriel decided he wanted to do something. What that was, he was still fairly uncertain. He wanted to learn more about life, what was out there and what was going on. His younger years he had been shielded and protected until blindsided by the death of his sister. He was told things would be alright, they would get better, that nothing certainly could go wrong so long as they had their Guardian there. What they didn’t tell him was that only applied to being in the pack, and the moment you left the sanctuary of the forest it was a dark and dirty world out here. He was part of that world, wanted to know more about it. He grew uncomfortable being around his slowly aging grandfather, the stifling love of his mother.

He missed it sometimes, the attention, the company, but he was finding the freedom far more alluring with his time in Glorall since he had moved. Now Asriel was happy to be free, not feel the strange pity he felt when he saw those who seemed miserable in their forms. He recently spotted his grandmother, he also was learning that he had half siblings, more than just his older ones that his mom knew about, running around Glorall. No they were his age, born the same year even, with the woman that he was now mates too.

Asriel wasn’t angry about this. It was strange if anything knowing his father had gotten so attached to another. However, his mother had been harmed, had stayed in Glorall while she healed and he had been with her, anger in his blood and aching for revenge. He didn’t know his father or uncles connection to the woman, he knew nothing more other than she had hurt his mother. The scent upon her pelt was his only clue, and he wasn’t even sure what he would do if he found her. Would he kill her? Rid the world of some miserable creature? Take a sideways vengeful swipe in the name of his sister? He didn’t know. What he did know was the lands were changing, a lot, and he would keep an ear and nose out for her while he looked around for other things.

Asteraia had changed paws twice this year already. Iromar, their neighbor, had become much noisier as of late. Part of Asriel hated the land just because of its history, the other part of him felt apathetic to it. The land did nothing to his sister, the new leader did nothing to her, he knew this, it was Aranck and he was dead. Pine had gotten his revenge for his family, but the derisive thoughts often crossed his mind for the place still mostly because of the past, but those who owned it seemed to never last for long. Today Asriel was curious about what else was going on with that pack now and Asteraia. His father was looking for information surely and Asriel was willing to provide it should he get any.

That was the objective today. Find the trail of that woman or information. Either would be good, but it was rare that he got out like this. So in the wide open fields he moved along, his dark grey ears twitching and golden eyes simply wandering over the land, searching for something that may catch his interest.
