Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Alcmene
eleven; soulbound to haziel; trapper of glorall

The male seemed receptive to my arrival, which was good. This was a job I could do on my own, of course, but having some company while scouting the borders wouldn't be a terrible thing. Conversation typically came pretty easy to me, even if I went a fair while between each one. Thankfully he introduced himself, and it was a good thing too because Thor was not a name that I would have guessed right off the bat. Although now that I'd heard it, it was familiar. Maybe Haziel or Eden had mentioned him in passing or I'd overheard it used in conversation. Either way, he was pack and he seemed happy to lend a hand in searching for evidence of the pack's prey movement.

"Alcmene," I responded, thinking he probably didn't know a name for my face either. "I'm not sure, really. Maybe I'm doing my job too well and they've learned to steer clear." I laughed lightly at my own joke. Sure, I firmly believed that I was the best hunter in Moladion, but thinking the prey avoided me intentionally was maybe a little too bold - even for me. "The crabs and birds are still around, but the seals have been beaching in some of the hardest places to reach on the coast, and I've even spotted them at the base of the island's cliffs from shore. Its the capybara that seem to have....vanished." My brow furrowed, wondering where they might have gotten off to. Diveen was likely too dry for the creatures, but maybe they'd made their way to the west, to the bordering lands between Glorall and Iromar? I couldn't imagine braving alligator infested waters was better than dealing with me, but who knows.

With that thought in mind I turned to the south, walking off hopefully with Thor at my side. I was keenly aware of my surroundings, smelling for the unique aroma of capybara and looking for their tracks in the soil. "So, Thor - anything I can help you with while we're out here scouting? Tasks or the like?" For a long time the ranks of Glorall had remained much the same. There had been a couple of changes - like Haziel stepping down as Hand and the silent woman so often at Eden's side taking his place. But the lower ranks had remained fairly well unchanged for years now, and hey if I could help get a wolf promoted to fill one of those vacancies, then I would.
