Shilo And I Don’t Think That I Can Be Fixed

Fear had filled the femme as she was hurled away from the brute. Luckily she had already gone limp when he grasped her and she was not seriously injured, though she was bruised and sore. But the fear was really what was controlling her, forcing her to talk and tell this male what he wanted to know. Until it came to her brother that was. Shilo didn’t want to put Tiresias in any danger, well in anymore danger than he was already in just by existing. Even though neither of the siblings had asked for this sort of life, it was what they were born into. A life of vicious loyalties and blood thirsty power struggles where they were caught in the middle. They would be hinted for their entire lives, unless they grew to power and took over. If either of them could have a pack to support them…an army really…then maybe they would be safe one day. But that wasn’t what was in store for them. Neither were entirely healthy. Shilo with her crippling blood sickness and Tiresias being blind meant they would always be at a disadvantage. And that disadvantage was becoming clear as she was literally thrown aside and threatened by the larger kalak.

Shilo knew that she would not betray her brother, but she tried not to let the other male know that she was lying. But she chewed at her lip as she took a few moments too long in silence to decide what to do. She didn’t realize that her subtle clues were enough for the male to figure out that she was lying, and he was not shy letting her know that he had caught on. She had never been in a situation like this, and as he spoke and looked at her she become more terrified. Perdere could easily kill her within seconds, but that was not what he was like. At least not according to his reputation. He relished in what he did to others, to the torture and the torment. And surely it would be no exception with her. The kalak didn’t discriminate against his own kind, in fact he basically only went after other maned wolves. So there was nothing that could protect her here. But could the fear of what Perdere could do to her mean that she should betray her brother? She didn’t know how she could protect both of them. The male stepped closer to her as he spoke once more, his long sharp claws making threatening sounds along the rocks.
“Did I not tell you that you should not lie to me? Was my warning not quite clear enough? What part of my threat was unclear? I do so wish for you to be honest with me… Only now it is so that I do not again make a mistake of being subtle. I am many things, Shilo, but subtle… Merciful, neither of those are traits that I possess.”

A whimper escaped the femme at his words, her mind turning to try and figure out how she could convince him that she wasn’t lying, while lying through her teeth. It seemed impossible and before she could respond and try to come up with an excuse, Perdere leapt at her, his weight pushing her backwards and she fell to a sitting position awkwardly landing on her rump. She felt his teeth snap just above her head, and her ears snapped flat to her head as she shut her eyes tight and waited to feel the pain of his bite, another whimper escaping her throat as she shied away from him. His claws pushed into her chest and under her limbs, and in the awkward position she was in and the way he pushed her to the side she flopped to the ground, her mint green orbs popping open as she letting out a surprised oof when the wind was knocked from her. But Perdere didn’t stop there, he continued to push against her with his clawed paws until she was on her back, her tail tucked submissively between her legs as she was put into the most vulnerable position. Shilo felt her teeth scrape, but never break skin, along her throat and belly, the threat scarier than if he had actually cut her, and her form shook under him.

Finally the small femme spoke, her words coming out in a shout at first. ”I told you, I didn’t know! I…I wouldn’t lie to you. I promise. Please, I don’t know where my brother is.” Tears welled up in the femme’s cool mint eyes as fear overtook her and she was worried about what this brute would do to her if she hadn’t convinced him that she was telling the truth. But she couldn’t get herself to tell him where Tiresias was, or that she did indeed know that he was alive. What kind of sister would she be if she just gave up after a threat or two? She may be physically weak, and even mentally sometime, but when it came to her family she was strong. And she would do whatever it took to protect him…at least she would try…
