At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Stormy Horizion
____________________________________
If there had been hope flickering within Stormy Horizion’s breast, that gentle, burning flame was instantly extinguished the second Riuk’s gaze fell upon her battered physique. The gentle fluttering she had felt within the depths of her vanished, replaced with something much closer to panic. Though his hackles fell upon recognizing the former queen, this massive titan’s smile was far from reassuring. In fact, the twist of his muzzle only gave Stormy further reason to doubt and fear this gladiator.

When Stormy had known Riuk in the past, he had been warm, genuine, and kind. The mutual respect he had for those around him oozed from him, every action carried the aurora of both pride, and kindness. But when Stormy looked at him now, all her warm amber optics found was ice. Something had changed, something was wrong and it was with that realization, that the panic returned. The fear and dread living in Uyaraut had taught her to contain bubbled up so fast, it ripped her breath away and Stormy Horizion gasped audibly. The world froze around her as the earthen painted dragon spoke, his voice deep and resonating. Vibrating within her very bones. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, and instead of heeding his command the smoke and cream painted marionette took a single step backward, searching for something to say. Anything she could do to remove this situation she had foolishly fallen into.

Kershov, had, unexpectely, taught Stormy exactly how to deal with something like this, as fear coursed through the thunderstorm clad lady, she paused, breathing deeply, in... one... two... three... out. one... two... three... again. until finally, her heart stopped racing, and the lithe vixen could hear past the blood rushing in her ears. You are safe. You are alive. You. Are. Okay.

Squaring her shoulders, amber optics meet Riuk’s own empty gazers... No, not empty. His eyes were certainly ice cold and glazed over, but he was thinking. He was calculating. Stormy did not back up again. Planting her paws firmly the little lady flickered her triangular auditories and steeled herself. This was not Riuk her friend, but it was indeed the same one she had known years ago. The great titan dipped his head in summon, and Stormy wet her tongue, swallowing hard, though there was no spit in her throat. Carefully, bravely, the young lass tested her voice out carefully. “Riuk... my dear friend” she began, her voice shook slightly giving her away, for she was still afraid, despite her bold stance and the constant, brave eye contact she held. No, Stormy did not look away from the monster Riuk had become, because perhaps... Perhaps she had turned him into that monster. Stormy continued, slowly, her voice growing stronger, braver with each word. “Contrary to popular opinion, I do not make a habit of lying with stray dogs. I wouldnt want to get any of your... fleas” she spat the last word, her fear was fading into anger. Anger at herself for not knowing better, angry at Riuk for letting this happen to him, and angry at Kershov, for letting her leave Uyaraut in the first place, for had she stayed, the thunderstorm lass would never have known about the beast that lay within her oldest friend.
