Live through this lie

Was I left behind?
Tell me, tell me I survived.

The muscles under my sleek summer hide bunch in places as I anxiously await Persphone's response about Talya. It's not that I think her answer will lift the guilt I've been carrying on my shoulders, but if I at least know the girl is alright and recovering, that means we can all begin to move forward from what happened with Psychedlic, finally. The queen of the Forest's response was short and sweet, but as soon as the word "fine" slipped from her lips I breathed a heavy sigh. My head dropped from its high position over my withers and my ears lazily came to rest at the sides of my poll. I bob my head in understanding, and even flash her a small smile at the thought of Talya being a mother. I follow the smile up with an amused snort at the idea of Evaline tending to Talya and her new grandchild. Perhaps her move to the Forest was good everyone. It seemed to shepard in a time of healing, at least. "That is great to hear." I say quickly with the flick of my red tail.

When Persephone asks about the Prairie herd, I hesitate for a moment before responding. "Our numbers have dwindled, unfortunately, but we're managing." I say honestly. I saw no use in hiding the fact that the herd had indeed suffered in recent months. But luckily Persephone had more pressing matters to discuss. My brown eyes focused on her as she explained her run in with a new foe on Tinuvel.

It takes some self control for me not to mention Orkaan in this moment, even if I know the stallion's relationship with Persephone was a moot point at this time. He was long gone, and it appears that a new aggressor had taken his place. I snort once as she explains how he came for one of he own mares, one with a new foal. "It sounds like you made the honorable choice." I confirm with her in the form of a nod. "Perhaps it is time for me to pay Mariael a visit too, to show support."

"This Warsaw, does he seem to have an issue with a mare leading a herd?" It seemed like an obvious question, given the way Persephone explained his interest in her leadership. "Would you say he respected you as a fellow leader?" I ask, feeling my blood start to boil, if only faintly, under my skin, at the idea of some ignorant and cocky stud. So far I didn't like what I heard about this Warsaw fellow. "If he ever returns to the Forest, you know I'd be glad to help you get rid of him." I said curtly with a serious look upon my face.

"But since we're talking about nefarious characters, have you dealt much with this new boss in the Lagoon? Cullen?" I ask with interest. "I wonder if that's where Psychedelic high-tailed it to."
