Cypress
tomorrow i will come back, leader of the whole pack
Cypress bit her tingling lower lip, stealing a glance towards Thoth from beneath her lashes. Danny had been wrong - despite the situation, there was a part of her that was absolutely freaking out. She knew you could hardly call that an accident like that a kiss, but still she felt all... Did he feel anything? He seemed a little pinker than normal, but could it be exertion? Maybe she should try again just to double check...
Wait, no, that wasn't right. Or at least, the timing definitely wasn't right. And besides, didn't she have to confess in a way he understood before they started locking lips all the time? That was still a thing, wasn't it? Still, when Thoth wrapped his arm around her - exactly as she'd been hoping - she burrowed close and breathed a sigh of relief. Danny had already moved a few steps nearer himself, not enough to make it look like they were ganging up on Emilia (he hoped they were, because nice and pretty or not, there was definitely something scary about her) but close enough to act quickly if Thoth or Cy saw an opening. Danny's frown met Thoth's quick glance as the woman started for the corridor, obviously not liking the interested gleam in Emilia's gaze.
Cypress studied Thoth from her close position as he put that beautiful mind of his to work, unaware that it was that same trust - the deep level she and Danny both had for him - that weighed on his shoulders as he released his grip on her and slowly followed after Emilia. The idea he could have gotten out of this on his own much easier than with them wouldn't hit her until much later; just in time for her to regret this whole cursed trip...
Danny and Cy took their seats with more reserve than Thoth, though Cy couldn't resist blatantly moving her chair away from Emilia and closer to Thoth. Neither moved to take food or drink, Cy barely concealing a glare and Danny looking wary and on-edge. Cypress' expression grew more hateful as Emilia and Thoth spoke back and forth.
"He's not a sideshow attraction you know," she growled under her breath at Emilia's fascination with Thoth's memory. She thought it was amazing too, of course, but Thoth was a whole package, not just some... fancy brain. She didn't think Emilia saw him as much more than Aura's son, let alone a person. Danny shot her a stern look - he agreed, of course, but he couldn't help but think it would be be better to proceed carefully.
Cypress crossed her arms over her chest, not bothering to conceal her frown, when Emilia rejoined them at the table. Danny eyed the woman for a moment before speaking.
"Actually I think we'd all rather discuss our present situation. I appreciate the... hospitality but we'd all appreciate it a bit more if we knew exactly what you planned to do with us."
