Many wolves looking for relaxation come to Blossom Field. A gentle breeze vibrating the blossoming flowers is quite a sight to see and it is quite a favourite for wolves to come with their mates.

A recent fire has ruined the scenery, half the field covered with soot and marked with scars of the flames. The other half is untouched, however.

Yayoi

Wrong is wrong. No fallacy can hide it, no subterfuge cover it so shrewdly but that the All-Seeing One will discover and punish it. - Antoine Rivarol

She had thought that her father would have something more soldiers from the homeland of Faraway, more wolves to swell the ranks and give them a greater power in order to not only gain a foothold here, but keep it; To not only establish their stronghold, but spread their power throughout the land… But the only ones who had come was them themselves - Ainae, their queen, and three of the four compass marks. The fourth must’ve died, and though no tears were shed, his absence was felt nonetheless. And so it was time to find another worthy of the position… But all of the wolves that may or may not join the pack or newcomers - how could such a position to be entrusted to them without worry of insubordination, subterfuge, or betrayal? That was one of their many faults, not only as a family, but as a breed - distrust ran deep with in their veins due to centuries of murder and power hungry plays. But without the fourth mark, the compass would be weaker, and each of the three remaining would have to pull more weight. Yayoi, however, would do as was requested and required, and for now, that meant recruiting new wolves.

She was perhaps the most tactful among them, the one with the most experience in subterfuge as well though. Yayoi could lie as well, or better, than any other wolf, and would have made her great-aunt Shae proud. Because of this, Yayoi had able to infiltrate many packs, and arrange for the capture of many prisoners for the experiments, for the Scientist. But she was also the most social among the marks, and perhaps that was why Horizon and Shasta actually joined the park - Yayoi, though she thought herself very similar to her sister Ainae, was in fact very different. This would come to be more obvious as time passed, and as Ainae‘s intentions and power-hungryness became clearer, but for now it was not something that Yayoi could quite believe her self.

The kalak had spent the morning having breakfast with Eisukuro, and though they did not speak of anything taboo, she knew it had been upon both of their minds. How much longer could they live like this, hiding their love from Ainae? The three of them have been best friends growing up, and now were lovers to all of one another… Ainae laid with whoever she pleased, something the queen took advantage of most nights. And they were supposed to be loyal to her first above all others… Would Ainae accept their desire to be with one another instead? Would she question their loyalty to her, or accept that the two were not mutually exclusive? Would she order their deaths? Yayoi did not believe that it would change anything, or at least that was what she claimed. But if that was true, why had she continued to hide their relationship from her sister? Why had she hidden it from the very beginning? And why was there a pit of fear and worry in her stomach warning her not to divulge her secret?

Yayoi ran, not away from anything, but toward a trail that she had come upon. It was marked by a single scent, and perhaps that was for the best - she wished only to find one recruit at a time, for it would be easier to influence them. But when she came upon the wolf she found, she sighed - it was indeed a type of kalak, but it wasn’t a Zaba, nor even a wolf of Faraway, but a Chiroptera like Nyfiken. She had yet to convince Nyfiken to join her at Mona Toforan, but perhaps her experience with him would give her an edge. She had yet to be able to show the new species off to Ainae, but really there was no rush, at least not until the Scientist arrived. But word was that the Scientist was along the way here... so perhaps it would behoove them to get this lass to agree to joining the pack. Yayoi watched the femme chase the leaves that had floated off of her pelt, and watched the gigantic wings flap from time to time, and after a few minutes she finally decided to speak up.

You don’t seem to be as bothered by the light as Nyfiken. Is it because you are younger?
