Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

The packs had been quiet as of late, too quiet. Zarah took to traveling the free lands more, looking for news, clues, anything to keep her distracted from the impending winter. Another winter alone was going to drive her mad. She'd never been so desperate for company. In fact, after getting over her foolish childhood of calling herself a princess, she avoided most companionship and pushed others away who tried to get close. Even her mentor in the assassin pack only knew what she wanted her to know, and they were considered pretty close. But Navarre had opened a hole in her that she didn't even know she had and when he abandoned her to mate his imprint, it left her more empty than she ever remembered being. And now she watched families growing all around her in Diveen and mates happily bedding down together at night and it brought on an ache that only grew with the cooler weather. Soon more pups would come to be and she would be alone...again.

She tried to bury herself in her tasks. She still searched for clues about her sister Paravana and what happened to her. Who stole her? How did she die? Why didn't she reach out to her family if she was still in Moladian? More than that though, Zarah wanted vengeance for her sister's death. Then there was the death of Nevaeh and Orion's son, the prince. She knew the family members knew more than what they told the pack about who did it and maybe even why but they weren't talking. She almost wanted to pry into that mind of the assassin who was to be her escort to Iromar. But something told her he'd be a hard shell to crack. Still, it might be fun. Either way, the two murders kept her mind busy, at least for the most part. And then there were quiet days like today where she just took in the changing colors of the leaves and felt the cool breeze ruffling her fur. It only reminded her that winter was fast approaching.

She felt her hormones starting to kick in and it aggravated her. She had no one to flirt with, no one to even talk to. She'd tried moving around in Diveen, meeting the pack members, but most seemed to already have their cliques or friendships. She found herself alone most days and she remembered a time when that didn't bother her. Damn Navarre. Her time with him had ruined her on relationships. Now she felt this craving for attention, any kind, really. Even if it was just a predator looking to make a snack of her, she would relish the fight she got from it, cause at this point, any attention was good attention. That's how desperate she was becoming. If only her parents could see her now. She could already see Achilles shaking his head at her.
