Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Trotting away from Diveen, Inari found herself gaining even more speed as the excitement of what she was doing raced through her mind. Before she knew it, her awkwardly large paws carried her in great bounds over the fields. Behind her, a group of prairie dogs peeked their heads from the safety of their bolt hole to see where the wolf had gone. The cub had no idea what a racket she was making as she galloped to nowhere in particular.

Prey scattered long before she darted away long before she passed by. A fox that had been hunting a group of pheasants watched in dismay as the fowl took to the sky. Moments later, the wolf cub bounded by, barking about absolutely nothing. Seeing she was but a child, the angry fox decided he wanted to teach her a lesson. With the skills it had learned over the course of its life, the vulpine took off after the pup.

Inari remained blissfully unaware of the danger she was in until it was too late. With a yelp of surprise, she suddenly found herself toppling to the ground with a large figure on top of her, it's teeth in her scruff. Suddenly, her demeanor changed from happy pup to fighting for her life. She had no idea the fox had no intention of actually killing her, but that didn't stop her from grabbing the creature's paw and biting as hard as her sharp milk teeth would allow. At once, blood seeped into her mouth as her attacker let out a bark of surprise. It backed off of her, giving her the chance she needed to right herself.

Hackles raised, she growled a little puppy growl at the fox and stood her ground for the next attack. It never came. Realizing it may have bitten off more than it could chew, the fox limped away, its bushy tail disappearing behind a bush. Inari watched it go in confusion as the bite marks on her neck throbbed. There was no blood, but the skin would be heavily bruised. Standing and shaking off the adrenaline from such a random attack, the wolf pup started walking back towards her pack, no longer bounding happily or barking unnecessarily. It seemed the fox had passed on its important lesson to its canine cousin after all.
