Without even asking for her parent's permission, Inari darted out of Diveen and made a beeline for the thick forest just on the other side of the massive field. With the boundless energy of youth, she had made it just in time for all the fun and activities! A howl nearby let her know just who was running it and soon she found the beautiful, red wolfess. Her scent was oddly familiar, but she was too excited to think too long on that thought. Some other day Inari would discover her cousin had been in charge of the little hunt the children were to participate in. After the rules and list of items had been given, the crème colored girl took off like a bullet into the surrounding forest.

The first item she hunted should have been the easiest. A pinecone. They were in a forest after all, how hard could it be to find one. However, it would seem that many of the squirrels and chipmunks in the area had been busy stealing the yummy nuts found within the pinecones and had hidden them away. Winter was quickly approaching after all and many of the woodland critters were busy gathering food for the harsher months. Inari, nose to the ground, was confused at the lack of cones in the area.

It wasn't until she watched one of the bushy tailed pests pick one up and scamper up a tree with it. With a growl, she followed until she was at the base of the tree. Barking in frustration, she demanded the squirrel drop what was rightfully hers! The vermin, for its part, ignored her completely. Distracted by her target, she didn't realize another had discovered her (not that it would have been hard with all the noise).
