aren't you tired of all of the violence inside of you?
son of ava and covet, son of nowhere, guardian of no one
Abel could only ignore the stranger's gaze for so long, and even when his gaze did shift, Abel did not forget about it. Or rather, he chose not to. Instead, he gave a snaggled smirk and a raised brow, interjecting as he caught that little tell-tale tone of suspicion from the other male - "Don't worry. Your pack didn't do this to me so I'm not seeking something petty like revenge." Everybody knew Asteraia's reputation and so, he doubted a member of the very same pack would be deluded enough to not know it too. In any case, Abel wanted to make it known that he was very aware of that gawking gaze. Still, he shifted somewhat, trying to obscure the gnarled stump from sight.
"Somebody important is there. Or rather, was the last time I checked." Better to be honest, right? He shrugged, as if it was a mere curiosity and not the all-consuming thought that Jinx could quickly become. "I wanted to know if she was still there before I risked going. Her name's Jinx - know her?" It was Abel's turn to be suspicious then - his eyes narrowed, focused in on every minute feature of Kajika's face as he awaited the response. He looked for lies, hesitation, anything that might elude to some unspoken condition of Jinx. Had their relatively newer queen chased her out, berated her? Had she even stayed? He should have found out sooner but...hindsight was like that.
