“Something in-between, I suppose,” Persephone replied. “None of my herd business really, but a friend asked me to check in on her daughter there. I owe her as much to follow through.”

The awe and admiration in Creed’s voice surprised Persephone a little, but it warmed her heart to hear it. She felt a strange sense of pride stir deep in her belly, and offered the young woman a kind smile of thanks.

“I’m glad you think so.”

It was then that the mare responded to her invitation, and it filled Persephone with pleasure to hear another enthusiastic response. It had been so quiet in the Forest lately and Persephone had missed her companions. It would be nice to have a visitor at least, even if she decided not to stay.

At the mention of the swim, Persephone gave a small smile of what she hoped was reassurance. The idea seemed to frighten the young girl.

“It would be a pleasure to have you, Creed. I’m afraid there is somewhat of a swim, but it the water unnerves you we could always travel together if you’re serious about coming to visit? You won’t get too far on the Islands without touching the water I’m afraid. Not a fan of the sea, I guess?”
