Ophi had no idea where the boys might have been headed in their attempt to find this special stone, but he was going to play the part. There was only a faint hint to the moors that clung to his fur in his search for Alyse. She wasn't there anymore, so the grey male would have to search elsewhere. For now, it was keeping the boys out of trouble.
Niyol's reaction was to be expected. He couldn't deny it hurt him a little to see his young friend upset with him. Ophi was no traitor, far from it. He would just have to try and keep it lighter. No physical threats and then apologize later after the boys were safely back home? Yes, that seemed like a reasonable enough plan. He stalked forward a couple steps with his fangs bared.
His eyes darted between the pair. "Not everything is what it appears," he said. Ophi gave another deliberate step forward as he tried to look as menacing as possible. Hopefully, Niyol would heed Mochi's words and run. "You both probably should run," he snarled as he lowered his head to the darker boy's level.
"Better a pretend pirate than an actual one," Ophi answered quietly, hopefully where Niyol wouldn't hear if he hadn't ran. "Now scat from my treasure!" he barked loudly, hoping Mochi would get the hint and he would give chase without actually catching the pair and chasing them back towards home to hopefully reveal it being just a game so that Niyol wouldn't hate him forever.
