His paws were too large. They annoyed him - it was simple. Menkhet didn't seem to have the same issues; she was still graceful even with big paws but Kaliban? Kaliban not so much. In fact, he had been on his way to both of his parents to discuss the issue but he had been taken aback by the arrival of others. So, he had stayed behind, suspicious and strangely ineffective without Menkhet nearby to make him feel so very strong - she had that impact, after all, thanks to her brazen nature. Kaliban had turned a little more inward since he had become less co-ordinated, perhaps a little ashamed that he looked neither powerful nor intimidating. But he still felt a little like it, and he couldn't help but bristle a little at the strangers. They radiated a strange energy! And who were the little ones? He'd seen one of them slip away and so, his attention had fixated on her, slipping away in his own right to follow after her - only after he issued a quiet call for Menkhet though, hoping she'd leave their mother's side and join him instead.
He prowled after the stranger, crunching through snow and grass on those too-big paws. He tried to ignore his obvious inability to be sneaky and pretended otherwise as he closed in on the strange girl - only, she wasn't that strange. When he spotted her colour up close, and her face - and even her size! - he felt a strange familiarity. Even though she was distinctly different to him, she reminded him a little of Runihura or Bastet. It made his eyes narrow.
"You! You were with that strange woman!" He called out to her, though by the time he had called out he was already only a few feet away from her, chest puffed and standing as tall as he could. "Mother didn't let you in, did she? She looked annoyed. So, why're you here?"
