The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Draygo had been oddly aimless these past few seasons. Sure, there were lots of possibilities. The fox-colored brute had contemplated going to Asteraia. The large woman he had met resided there, but one of her wolves had tried to force him there. The idea had immediately been spurned for the time being. Maybe that would change. Until then, he wandered and tormented to his heart’s content. Sadly, he had not had any wolf subjects in recent months. They were the most fun because they were sentient. Little predators were interesting enough, but they didn’t beg for mercy like a wolf might.

His large paws took him towards the Grotto. Draygo could not explain why he felt drawn to the cave-like system, but he had been. Perhaps it would be a new place to get a good look at to keep future torture victims. Not that he’d be so lucky with this lot of wolves any time soon. His pale green eyes drifted about the dimly lit area, moving with unexpected purpose. What could possibly be so interesting down here? He wondered absently.

That was when he heard something. The rusty red male paused abruptly. His ears twitched as he sought the source of the sound. Nothing was coming back off the walls. Draygo stepped off again on his mahogany paws with a derisive snort. Grotto must have been playing tricks on him. That was his only logical explanation. Until he felt a strange sensation. It was the same as he had felt when he had found Ester in the Valley. But it seemed different somehow, as it prickled on very specific parts of his body. What was it telling him? Draygo gave a low growl as he picked up his pace. She was /here/. Somewhere.

He sniffed about to pinpoint her scent. It was one of the few things burned into his memory whether he liked it or not. Draygo knew he would always be able to find her. Another growl escaped the red and cream brute as he noted her present state. For all his dislike of feeling so… bound to someone, the sight of her in what appeared to be pain not caused by him was rather unsettling. ”You need water.” he said rather abruptly, not even considering he might be interrupting Ester trying to sleep.
