Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

I'LL BE YOUR DEADMAN

STUCK IN YOUR WONDERLAND
"If I had to guess, you know a little about being in a pack." He spoke carefully as he responded to her wistful words. Ramos himself had only come across two pack wolves as he roamed about the common lands of Moladion. One had been a young male from the mountainous south-west and the other, the alpha of Iromar. Jealousy had burned in his gut at the scent of the former. He had been well fed, well taken care of, smothered in the odor of many others who worked together to survive. As a loner, as a former pack wolf, the cream brute couldn’t help but want to be a part of something bigger once again.

Of course, he could’ve crossed any of the borders he had come across to request sanctuary for the winter. The thought, however, of dealing with the possible repercussions had kept him from doing so. A fight was not something Ramos wanted to chance as a loner. He’d only really feel comfortable at the borders of Iromar as he had met the land’s alpha. The only problem would be finding it. For now, he would keep to his current lifestyle. If this she-wolf knew of Iromar, perhaps she could help him but he had his doubts. Not many seemed to want to speak about it to him. And so his current topic of conversation would have to do.

Her response to his off-handed comments was surprisingly steady though her voice was light. She seemed more sure of herself here, or at least sure of the situation. His company seemed to be able to gauge who she had come across this night despite his thick fur hiding the details of his previous lifestyle. His lax stance didn’t betray the ache in his right shoulder from the wounds inflicted by his own bane and the various small twists and the odd tiny bare patches of fur hidden beneath his neatly groomed pelt told a story of rough training sessions and years of protecting his pack mates. However, here, he was simply a loner who took too much pride in his appearances.

Topics shifted and so did this female. He barely caught the shame that flashed across her black face, and chose to ignore it in his attempt to offer her his kill. Ramos watched her carefully as she shook her silver flecked coat and moved to accept the tom. There was still a level of distrust between the two, something he couldn’t blame her or even himself for.

It was winter.

They were hungry.

They were strangers.

But she tucked in to the turkey none-the-less and it put him more at ease. He nodded at her words of gratitude, but more or less shrugged them off. "You’re welcome. Go on, love. No need to wait for me." It was what he had been raised, even trained, to do. Sentinels were the last to eat when other pack mates were present unless there were Omegas who took the bottom rung of the totem pole and were allowed to clean up the scraps. He would sit quietly until she downed a couple more mouthfuls of the meat before moving on to a more delicate topic. Ramos opened his black lips once more to inquire about her past in a deep, comforting tone. The curiosity was still there about her life before Moladion. "What happened to your pack?"
