Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

There was a sense of comradery that Talien felt with Thor. It was not a romantic notion, at least she did not think it was. And perhaps it began as all seeds do, with the bond of an imprint. It was true that the fates and gods had chosen them to recognize one another... but it was not the same bond that so many others including her own parents shared. It was strange really, but she had heard from many others that such a bond was possible... that it was like that of blood... of siblings... but something much deeper and more profound. That much Talien could never deny. She felt something for Thor, something deep and unexplainable. They shared a connection that allowed one another to feel each other's joys and pains, to share the sorrow and elation. At times Talien wondered why it had to be so invasive, but then there were moments like his pain for Inanna's departure that made her grateful for him. It allowed her to recognize his need for her and be there. She knew that she could never take away his pain, just as he could never replace the longing she felt for Dexter in her heart... but there was a sense of completeness that seemed to overshadow the sorrow and pain by simply being in the other's presence.

A mischievous grin spread across her fine black tipped muzzle as he barked about her volunteering to bring him presents. White tipped tail flicks playfully at her side as she lets a quick quip of her own slip free. "Maybe if I do bring you presents of red meat from the forests you wont look so skinny." she teases, stretching a paw out to poke at him playfully. The look of utter shock however did make her laugh aloud. He may not have meant to call her fat, but she took it as such... if nothing more than to keep his mind from wandering to the lose of Inanna. "I bet you would look just as fluffy if you stayed out of the water long enough for your coat to dry out." she teased, her silver blue eyes glimmering in the dim light of the den.

As he finished cracking open the last of the crab, and pushing a portion of it pointedly to her, Talien relented and made quick work of the remains of the crab meat. Raven tipped ears flicker however as Thor's emerald green gaze travels around the den, staring at the many knicknacks Inanna left behind. Gulping down the final mouthful of crab Talien spoke, this time, her voice soft and gentle. " DO you think you will ever move them? I know it is all still fresh and that you hold onto the hope that she will return someday but..." she trails, letting her words disappear with the sound of the ocean surf just beyond the den. Dexter had not bee her mate... but she had hoped he would be. He held her heart... and even now it called to him though she knew he would never hear or answer that call. It took her awhile to come to terms with his choice... not that she truly had... but she had savored the small trinkets he had left her. A turkey feather from a game of tag they had played when she had first come to Taviora, a small stick he found for her that smelled strange but delicious and had helped with the nausea from her pregnancy. Even a couple tufts of his thick fur that had come out in the den they had shared many a night. Of course she knew about Tuari, and the nights he didnt come to the den to join her in sleep she knew he was with the black wolfess but nonetheless she ignored it and found comfort in the smell of his fur. When she first came back to Taviora... Talien spent many an hour staring at the den they had shared... a den that she had birthed her pups in.. and with the history both good and painful she had turned away from it and sought out another. Apart of her said to get over it and just push out the painful memories and enjoy the large den to herself... but the other part... the part that spoke from her heart knew she never could.

It was that day she turned from her den and sought out the meadow where Dexter had first brought her. It was a meadow his mother had discovered or so he told her. Here, Talien found a fallen tree, its thick roots sticking up like skeletal fingers reaching for the heavens. It had been a good start and the dirt was soft enough that Talien found the digging to take little to no effort. Talien dug out a den in the middle of that meadow, a den protected by the fallen tree and surrounded by the beautiful flowers in the spring and summer months. She dug it deep and wide enough that Nenetl could come and sleep comfortably when he daughter chose to but not so big that Talien felt the emptiness. It suited her... for now... and Talien could only wonder if Thor would find himself in the same position one day. "I will help you..." she begins, turning her silver blue eyes upon him with a gentle warmth and understanding radiating from them, "If you ever are ready to bury the past... Ill be here always." she breathes, standing up to nuzzle his cheek affectionately before turning her back to him and walking back to the entrance of the den. Enough sadness today. "Lets go chase those gulls now. Its time we got those old muscles of yours loosened up." she teases.
