The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

Shilo And I Don’t Think That I Can Be Fixed

Fear was a feeling that was not new to the femme. But this type of fear…this was new. It was constant and extreme, more like terror. Normally she had a safe place to go, to hide and escape from the fear. But it seemed that that was no longer the case. She may not have had true friends before, but she hadn’t felt trapped like she did now. Shilo didn’t know why she felt compelled to stay with Perdere, but she did. She had never had a crush on another, didn’t realize that that’s what had happened with him. Despite the way they had come to be together, despite the fact that he initially threatened to kill and torture her, she had grown fond of him. Had grown to trust him and enjoy being around him. After the male realized she was not going to run away, more like she couldn’t, then he was not always so cruel in his words to her. At first it had been a tactic to keep her tied to him, a mental leash of sorts. But after enough time, Shilo didn’t need any sort of leash to keep her near Perdere. She wanted to be with him. That was the only reason that she had stayed within this evil and insane pack.

But that was where the kalak found herself. Stuck in this pack where most of the wolves wanted to kill her and eat her. Eat her! She couldn’t believe that this was what she had gotten herself into. It was a miracle that she had survived the first meeting. It still made her sick to her stomach to relive skinning the little creature. Even though it was a prey animal that she would eat, it felt wrong to do what she did. Sure she had killed the vole quickly, but it still wasn’t right to pull the skin off its face. But its what she had done in order to keep a place in this pack. But now she was going to do everything in her power to stay under the radar. She never wanted to see the alpha or the vampire or any of the other wolves that came here willingly again. The only wolf that she wanted to be near was Perdere. With a sigh the femme began to search him out. She was too afraid to actually call for him, worried that another wolf would find her instead. But she also knew if she stayed hidden away where she was that he may not find her. Not unless he wanted to.

The kalak found herself slowly meandering through the trees, stopping every once in a while to listen in case there were others close by. For now it seemed that she was the only one out here. Which was strange. Shilo would have thought with the warmer weather that more wolves would be out more frequently. But she wasn’t going to question it. She had purposefully chosen daytime as well so that she would have no chance of running into the vampire. She couldn’t bear to be around him again. She wasn’t sure who was worse, Draven or Sindicate. Did being a vampire make one evil? She wasn’t sure. But she didn’t care, she didn’t want to be anywhere near him. So far Shilo had been unable to find Perdere’s scent freshly anywhere she was looking. Perhaps she was staying too close to the small den she had made. But she was afraid to go too far away. Shilo knew that a den wasn’t a magical protection, but it felt like one. With a sigh she found some bushes to hide in, a whimper escaping her. All she could do was hope that he come across her before someone else did.
