At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Finally, they had come to an understanding, and agreement - Giazakisa would give the topic of her horns along with the rest of her mutations a rest. She would give them a chance, and see if they could actually be useful. And if they weren’t… Well she would lop them off, and Hemming would have to help her. It was a steep price to pay, should the little cadejo ever decide that she didn’t want her mutations anymore, but in the meantime it meant peace, and it meant that they could talk about something other than those pesky little mutations. It meant a second chance at their friendship. Giaza had leapt down a few ledges, so that she was just higher than Hemming, and she had been intending to come down completely, but instead, he had started climbing too, until he was up to her height. And surprisingly, he did not have any difficulty navigating the treacherous rock face either. Giazakisa did not think much of it, considering that she had never attempted to climb such a steep slope before before, but neither has she seen any of her siblings attempt such a feat. She assumed it was just normal. She had no idea how difficult it would be for any with actual wolf paws to do what she was doing, and so she simply assumed but there was no correlation between their climbing skill and their hooves. But at any rate, Hemming quickly took her mind off of their ease of movement by explaining his situation and inquiring more about her‘s.

Apparently, this was his first time out on his own, and he want to know if it was the same for her. Gia laughed and shook her head. “No, Mother permits us to do as we please in terms of exploring to date our intellect, as long as we tell her where we are going and how long we will be gone. Although… We also have to make enough time each day to practice. That is part of the deal.” She looked up at him, expecting him to say that his mother was much the same, and whether he contradicted her, seemed confused, or said nothing at all, she would then explain further. “Well, Mother is a warrior, and back in her homeland she was one of the very bestest. And the tradition back in her homeland there is that all pups learn all of the different career path - healing, hunting, fighting, spiritual, advisor… And there is one more that I always forget. Oh yeah, spying! Anyway, Mother was a fighter, and she says because of my… Because of the way I am built, I will never be able to truly excel in fighting. So she is trying to give us a proper education in all six of them... since I guess I’m only eligible for five of them. Of course… She can really only teach us fighting and hunting, but she said she is going to find us teachers for the other ones. So… I have to go through stretching and strength training each day so that I at least will be capable of defending myself. And of course someday be able to hunt for myself. She says the trick is to learn it now when I’m young and pliable so that it is easier to continue when I’m older. I don’t know who is going to teach me all the other stuff, I know Macaria will probably teach me healing since she’s in the pack already. But…” Giaza shrugged. ”That still leaves three other things. Advising, spying, and spiritual stuff. Mom has taught me about the gods of course, but she’s not a great storyteller. Mom only speaks in rhymes and riddles so a lot of the time it’s hard for me to… Really get the meaning of the story. It always sounds pretty though!

Giazakisa looked up towards the cracked rock once more, but then she looked past that, up to the tippedy top. “Do you want to try to climb all the way up? It doesn’t look so hard now that I know that we are good at climbing! And I have never been up there… At least in this part. Mom doesn’t like me going by the edge of the cliffs by myself, she says it can get pretty windy.” As if summoned up by her words, a strong gust of wind came and battered at the wall. Gia dug her hooves in and leaned into the solid foundation, and was surprised to realize she had not pulled away at all, but still it had frightened her a little bit, mainly because of her mother‘s previous warnings. “Well… Maybe we don’t go all the way up today… Maybe we just explore the lower half for now? We could see if we could find any cool new cave systems! There’s lots of holes I bet we could fit ourselves into!” Giazakisa jumped up onto another edge, but then realized that the next one up was behind her. Carefully, she started turning around, somehow fitting all four of her tiny paws on the edge before swinging her rump around. Gracefully, she leapt to the next step in their trail. “How many siblings you got anyway? I used to have more… But… Not anymore.
