Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Ah, she seems interested in the idea of Blackthorne being born here - I often wonder if many others are aware for he certainly did not flaunt his history. I had always been aware of his ambitions, and I had even tried at one point to send Thor to redirect him down a path of less...scheming, I suppose. But he is no threat, at least not now, and so I see no reason to delve into his past even if she is curious; perhaps if he returns and I decide I am more fond of Avery, then I will share it so that others might dig through it to find a weakness. But for now, let her be curious. It will keep her on her toes, a trait essential for any new alpha who wishes to survive those first few years.

In any case, I am glad she is open to spending some time in Glorall. I have little concern for showing her the territory - knowledge of the land, after all, is less valuable than some might believe. It is knowledge of the wolves within it that makes one more capable, I believe. Still, if what I have gathered about her is true then it is likely she hasn't ever had the opportunity to truly explore some place like Glorall. So, I present her with an earnest grin as she steps beside me, pivoting to stand flank to flank before I begin to lead forward at an amble. By directing our path somewhat south, I will be able to show her the southern shores soon enough, along with the small islets that dot the sea.

"I am fascinated by your history, Avery. I find it most curious the ways in which Iromar has been passed along through these years - never by blood. Andras to Aithne, and in a way, Aithne to you in due time. It is not which parent raises the child but rather, which mentor." I muse aloud, my eyes eventually drifting towards her but back to the path ahead of us soon enough. It is an easy enough path to take, well worn but not flattened by paws; arches of tall trees reach above us, curving with the wind as the soil below turns from loamy to sandy. "Even Aithne's daughter, Aster, was given a pack without blood ties. Such things were unheard of when I was but a child. Always, we were taught, to fight for things and yet...ah, it is not so needed now." I give a small laugh, truly fascinated by the entire shift in how things work. Who, I wonder, brought such peaceful ideals? It was certainly not my own father, a wolf too obsessed with lineage that he managed to spark wars over the wrong fur. Then who? I wonder if Avery, the receiver of such mentorships and training knows. When did Andras begin to feel such a way after so many years spent fighting?

I pause, but only for long enough to clear my throat and offer a small grin once more before I begin forward once more. "You must forgive me for such...ramblings. It is rare, you see, for me to meet another wolf of our generation. It spurs many thoughts, of the past and future alike."
