Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

Macaria…I…I know that nothing I say can take back what I’ve already said before. But I didn’t mean it… any of it. I know it was in no way your fault. I know you didn’t choose to become a vampire… and I don’t care that you are one. You’re still you and you never would have done anything to hurt me or our family. I’m sorry… I… don’t know how to make things right. If there’s anything I can do to make it better, I will. Whatever it may be.

Perhaps if she had not already been sated by the blood and body of her latest victim, this speech may have instilled within her a sense of desire, of passion. Perhaps they could have fucked their way into oblivion, forgetting the betrayal and rekindling the bond between them. She loved Grey Wind with all of her heart, but the way in which he had pained her was like a stake to the heart. For so long she had lived without hurt, without pain. With the death of her nociceptors had come a life without fear, until she discovered that she could indeed fear for the lives of her pups, of her mate. But he had brought to her a deep emotional pain that had set back their relationship tenfold. His words had hurt her, yes, but it had been his actions that had damaged her. Recoiling away from her touch, sending her away when she wished to be with him for comfort, keeping her from burying their dead daughter… his words now meant nothing. Yes, perhaps he finally realized his mistake, and perhaps he actually regretted it, but what would stop him from repeating it?

Perhaps if she was not high out of her mind, Macaria would have had some sense of pity, of reason left within her mind. But it was clouded by the fog of the poppy that she had danced with nearon every day since the death of Missandei, and all sense of reason had fled from her grasp. She saw the regret in his façade, the pleading of his gaze, but she simply did not care. She knew what he wanted, and she did not care. She loved him, deep down, yes, but right now, she could not give a single care for him. If their relationship was to survive, he would have to fix it over time. Inch by inch, he neared her, until finally he reached out in an attempt to clean off her maw. Now, all of this time, she had remained relatively still, blood dripping from her slightly parted lips, snout curled every so slightly, but as soon as he made contact with her flesh, she reacted as if suddenly released from a frozen state.

A vicious snarl ripped its way out from between her teeth as she snapped at his face, not caring whether or not her teeth actually tore through his skin. “After everything you did, you think these words will fix it?” Reaching out toward him, she swiped at him with her claws as she had when he had first approached, but she was done with warnings. “Just because you are sorry, that suddenly makes everything better?” Macaria growled and leapt at him, her teeth missing the skin of his neck but ripped out a clump of hairs. “Our daughter is dead and you blamed me. You sent me away to mourn alone, at least you had our other offspring to mourn with. As far as I am concerned, Grey, we are through. Finished.” She recoiled from hind and stood stiffly across from him, her last few words emerging in a hiss. “And you are to blame for all of it.” It felt odd, releasing herself from her vows to him. They had overcome so many obstacles that would have broken other couples, yet the one thing that should have brought them together had split them apart. Despite how full she was, she suddenly felt the urge to throw herself at any other and every other wolf, so long as it was not her mate. Her ex. The pain he had caused still festered deep in her soul and would for some time… and only food and companionship would lessen it, and only time would tell if the wounds would mend.
