"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

night fell slowly on our glory days

Kune can sense indecision in Bozena, but he could never guess it is partly about their relationship--he assumes she is simply conflicted by the desire to remain in a place where she is comfortable and the prospect of moving on from it toward pastures new. Kune waits patiently for her to voice her thoughts, half-watching her out of one eye and, with the other, continuing to look out over the vast landscape before them. Though he has never been so high above the ground before, seeing the trees stretch out like a dark sea brings him an odd kind of peace, as though he had left his earthly cares and worries down there with them.

He is strangely relieved to hear her agree that they should stay for the time being. Though he would follow Bozena to the ends of the earth, Kune has not known a true home in what must be years now. He reflects that it will be good to lay some roots for a while, and nods his head in silent assent. Then the stallion takes a few steps forward, closer to the edge of the cliff, turns to face Bozena, and lowers his great bulk to the earth, folding his thick legs beneath him as gracefully as he can manage.

"If you would share with me," he says, "I would enjoy hearing about your time here, and the faces I may meet some day."
