sent from the heavens above...

He had no other friends or acquaintances on the islands so Solaris was it for him. Of course, that wasn't the only reason he followed her. She was sweet and kind and she thought of him. She treated him with respect. Not that you deserve it. You're just her guy on the side. She doesn't need you. "But I need her." He spoke the words softly, almost in defeat. His ears pricked on her as she started to speak, eyes trained on her as she said that she told her father she would return with her boyfriend and that everything would be okay. His ears flicked back and forth uncertainly at that, but it's not like he had a choice. Finally, he nodded. "Okay." It would be a lie to say he wasn't a little eager to get to warmer climates, but he didn't want to burst Solaris' bubble if she ever wanted to return.

As she moved to the water, he was right on her heels, giving her space but wanting her know that he was there for her, no matter what. His own body shivered and he let out a rattling snort as the cold water hit his skin, but he pushed onward, swimming alongside Solaris as they headed to the new island. When the water got warmer, he felt the relief down to his very bones, but he kept one ear and eye trained on Solaris, making sure she was taking the journey in stride given her late pregnancy. When she squealed, he threw his head in panic, the whites of his eyes rolling as he looked at her. "What's wrong, Solaris?" He didn't want to get too close and have their legs tangle in the water but he wanted to offer her support for whatever was happening.

You can't help her. You can't even help yourself. He snorted at the accusation, continuing to watch as Solaris thrashed. He braced himself in case he needed to swim closer to keep her above water. Even if he had to put her on his back, he would do whatever it took to keep her safe. Finally, they made it to shore and it seemed like the minute they got on dry land, she started to push. Figuring out what was going on, Angel paced and snorted, his tail swishing in agitation. He hated seeing her in any pain and didn't know how to help. He wanted to give her space but he didn't want to leave her, either. Finally, a foal came into the world and she was beautiful. Angel snorted softly, lowering his head to get a sniff of her but kept his distance in case Solaris was protective. He had no doubt that she would be a great mother.

She must have gotten her looks from her mother. "Nothing wrong with that." He commented to himself as he looked at the filly with pride in his eyes. He looked back at Solaris and cautiously moved closer, wanting to nuzzle her and tell her how good she did, but only if she was ready to allow it. At her question to look at the filly, he smiled, able to feel her own excitement and pride. "She's beautiful, Solaris. You did a great job." His heart swelled with love for his first daughter. He couldn't have asked for better. As Solaris nuzzled against his neck, he melted into the contact, letting out a soft nicker of contentment. At her question of the filly's name, he smiled wider. "That's a perfect name. Galexia, it is."
