Rules• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders. • Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission. • All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say. • Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met. • You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page. • Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce. |

 Tell me, tell me I survived. The swim from Luthien to the Crossing Isle was made in silence. I found Jabari already at the shoreline, staring off at Petal and his girls in the distance. He gave me a curt nod before trekking into the surf. I felt a pulse of guilt shoot through me when my eyes locked with Petal's, albeit briefly, before she turned away.There was nothing easy about this, for any of us. But what other choice did I have? Jabari was a full-fledged adult now. He knew better. He knew enough to understand his actions had consequences. And his actions put our family in jeopardy. That includes Petal and their fillies. So we swam in silence, kicking out against the ocean in easy, churning cycles, until the hazy mass of the Crossing Isle in the distance. We were equally mum as he rose onto the shore of the Lagoon. My nostrils flared, breathing in the familiar salt-licked muck scent of my former home. A chill ran down the length of my spine as my wide, brown eyes took in our surroundings. The last time I was here, I watched Valve of the Dunes cast a fatal blow against my brother's skull. I shudder once at the thought, the tense muscles under my sleek hide quivering for just a second. Jabari takes notice and nickers warmly, snapping me out of it. "Is it how you remembered?" He asks in a low voice. I breathe a heavy sigh, the sides of my barrel rising and falling in one fell swoop before bobbing my head just once in confirmation, then taking a step through the damp sand and toward the foliage in the distance. When I lived here, I was barely a stallion. Younger than Jabari even. It's where I first met Ruger, and his sire Felony. How much life had changed since those days. But similar to today, it was Valentine of the Prairie who'd escorted me here. Kindly and calmly, he made sure I made it here safe. Back in those days, there was no room in a herd for a bastard colt. We came here. Cullen's scent is thick on the trees and the leaves, and perhaps a few others. But the terrain is the scarcest I've ever seen it. I'm not sure what that says about Cullen or just the tide for bachelor stallions these days. I part my lips as I issue a shrill whinny, a bugle for the Lagoon Boos, that we have arrived. |
