The swim was long and tiring, but so worth it. Bright brown eyes surveyed the island as it grew closer and she just knew that a new adventure was about to begin. She looked forward to every bit of it. Finally she made her way to land, stopping to shake the water from her golden coat before she let out a snort, clearing her nostrils of any salty ocean water before she took another look around. Rolling fields spread out before her, full of the smells of multiple mares and stallons, alike. She let out a questioning nicker, wondering if anyone was close. When no answers came straight away, she pawed the ground with another soft snort and found a shady place to start grazing. The grass here was long and sweet. That had to mean good things were on the way. She wasn't running from anything but rather, running to something. She didn't have a traumatizing childhood that left her with scars or daddy issues that made her mistrust stallions. Sure, she knew it wasn't all butterflies and rainbows and every stallion wasn't a perfect gentleman looking to sweep her off her hooves and give her a happily ever after. She'd settle for a fair lead stallion who would keep her safe and give her a place to call home. See? Low maintenance. Sure, she had dreams and aspirations. She believed in love, but she also knew horses weren't known for life long exclusive partnerships. She wasn't looking for exclusive. She was just looking for something other than the same routine she'd been living in for the first four years of her life.
