"Sso hungry." The words hissed past his lips as he paced in the entrance of the grotto. He'd been eating mice and rodents that ran into the darkness of the caves for months now, but they were growing scarce and his stomach growled for something more. He needed to get out and hunt while he still could. He just hated to leave Xerxes for any amount of time. His brother was so needy now. He always wanted attention, someone to groom his skull and keep it nice and pristine. Just like he used to keep his coat. Fen thought about doing his old tricks and gathering up some mud to wipe on his skull, just to hear him gripe and moan but Fen know he'd be the one to have to clean it up to stop all the complaining so he decided not to in the end. Sighing, he glanced over toward Xerxes. "No input thiss time?" He mocked his brother, but received only silence this time. Shaking his head, he strode over to the skull. "Fine. Come with."
Wrapping his jaws around the skull, he gingerly picked him up and walked outside of the grotto. The light blinded him at first, causing him to pause to blink rapidly, letting his eyes adjust. Shaking his head, he continued forward, making his way toward the riverside. He figured the prey animals would come to water so it seemed the best option for a hunt. When he got closer to the sound of running water, he stopped, sniffing the air. Something was close by and it smelled good. His mouth was already watering, drool hanging from his parted jaws, dripping to the ground as he maneuvered over to some bushes, looking for a place to stow Xerxes. Finally, he found a nice spot hidden under a bush with some soft moss. He placed the skull down as gently as if placing a newborn pup. Then he turned his attention on the river. "Be back ssoon." He murmured as he lowered himself and crawled toward the sound of the water, wondering what he would find when he got there.
