I just came back, but I figured you could never have enough options. ;)
As soon as I read everything, I immediately thought of Emmett. I gave him a backstory years ago that on his travels, he'd found his true love but didn't realize it until he'd lost her in a jaguar attack. When he came home, he was in denial that she was gone so he kept seeing her wherever he went and almost tricked himself into thinking she was still alive.
It took him a long time but he finally got to a place of acceptance where he could be comforted by her memory instead of tortured by it. With that acceptance, he knows he'll never feel love like that with anybody else and he's made peace with that.
He would fit the first scenario better, he's definitely more of a long-term friend than a one-night stand. He would never pressure her into anything more than she was willing to give and wouldn't expect anything from her. Barring conflict, he's calm and contemplative and a good listener.
He would be willing to hang out with her, after the initial angst of finding out that she lives in the forest - he hasn't gone anywhere near one since the jaguar attack. He would be an observant and engaging father, but he wouldn't be demanding about hanging around all the time if Persephone didn't want him to.
He's a big, handsome beast and he's got great bloodlines. Cuz, ya know, everybody needs a little bit of Maximus in them. ;) Replies:
