We found each other in the dark

Through the black starless water,
And the cold lonely air. On the rock restless seas.

The idea of being affectionate with a stallion was still so new and exciting for Tavas. She wasn't sure how much these feelings she enjoyed stemmed from her romantic interest in Requiem, and how much they came from the way he made her feel. Tavas liked seeing how Requiem's demeanor changed in her presence. She liked that she could tell he was interested in her. It made her stomach churn in knots and it sent a shiver down her spine. Perhaps what she enjoyed most of all was this chase - knowing that this stallion wanted her.

She flicked her wavy blonde tail over her haunches as Requiem relented and shared what was happening in the Inlet. It was dramatic. The palomino mare couldn't hide the surprise and shock she felt from her features. "What?" she questioned. Warsaw had been de-throned. Everything she knew had been turned upside down. Where was Vita Nova? Was she standing by him? Or would she flee back to the Prairie? For a second, Tavas wondered if she too, should be devising an escape plan back to Luthien. But she was so young when she lived there, she couldn't be sure if she knew what her uncle Shamwari or cousin Jabari looked like if she saw them standing in front of her. Tavas grit her teeth and kept her thoughts to herself as Requiem continued. So the herd was staying in the Inlet, at least for now... The Bay, however, was gone from their grasp.

"Wow." Was all she managed to croak out once he was finished. Her brown gaze stared off into the trees as she tried to process all this new information. Tavas' life as she knew it was over. She heaved a great sigh when she felt Requiem's touch, and nickered warmly to him. "I've missed you too." She admitted, her tone softening some as they embraced.

The mare shifted her weight over her puffy ankle and winced slightly. The swelling was certainly going down, but the shooting pangs lingered. "I fell, while running away from him." She says bluntly. "Back on sh*thole Salem." She says, rolling her eyes. "He wasn't chasing me. I was just... trying to get away. I was scared." She says, her features falling into a more glum expression. But Tavas' mind was whirling. She had no idea what she should do next. "I don't think you should stay much longer. Bjorn will find you. He may be short, but he is a relentless pain in the ass."

Tavas was about to offer up a date and time for them to try to meet again, perhaps in a few weeks once things had died down some. But a disturbance in the nearby brush caused her to raise her head. She watched as the pony king emerged, with an angry scowl on his face. She backed up quickly as the Icelandic stallion went straight for Requiem, squealing and tossing her head. "Cool it, Bjorn. I thought you said we're all on the same team!" She shouted, baring her own teeth at the stallion, and even threatening to bite him on his barrel and haunches as he went after Requiem. "He's come with important news, which probably matters to you, too."
