Like diamonds in the sky

Solaris

Solaris was grazing with Galexia, surprised that the grass still tastes good here given the late season. Galexia was growing beautifully and she now was old enough to eat grass on her own. Solaris still nurses her from time to time, but the filly was starting to become completely depended on real food like the rest of the herd. Solaris admired how much the girl looks like her father, but the scrawny filly was beginning to fill out and get a mare-like shape.

It was great she looks like a mix of her and Angel, but at times it was hard. Their recent blow out was hard on the mare and only made her feelings more confusing. Her belly was beginning to grow round with her next child, but she was unsure of whose foal she carried. She was unsure of any of her lovers still wanted her...a whinny sent her ears up and her head looking in the direction of the caller. Angel. She gives him a small smile as he approaches, but something on his face says business. He reaches out his muzzle and she returns the gesture with a short nuzzle. They may be in a rocky place right now, but she still had feelings for the stallion.

Shock engulfs her face when he speaks. "Leave?" She asks and was about to ask to where when Angel continues speaking. She was outraged! Not only did Angel's actions of bringing that mare home throw a wrench between them, but now even her sire was adding to the drama. How could he? He says he will ask to come back to visit to see them, but Solaris turns her head away as tears begin to roll down her cheeks. "This is YOUR fault for bringing that mare into our lives!" She yells, turning back towards him with tears and rage in her eyes. "How could you? How could he?" Her body began to tremble with emotion.

She couldn't believe her father would partake in such a deal. "Coming here was a mistake...getting close to him was a mistake." She mutters, talking about her sire of course. Her eyes shut and silence falls between them for a few minutes. Galexia watches her parents with confusion, but she gets the just of what was going on. "Daddy?" She questions, stepping towards him with an extended muzzle. Solaris steps between father and daughter, pushing the girl's muzzle away, and glaring at Angel. "Say bye to daddy Galexia." She knew she could visit the Inlet as long as her grandfather still lives there, but she wanted this moment to feel as dramatic as possible for Angel. This was all his fault anyway.
