She could see Vasilisa's decision was set in stone. She probably believed being the first to make a move would be considered weak or mean she was admitting to something she did wrong, but to Monster, it was neither. Being the first to make the move was a sign of strength in her opinion. It meant you were above such petty things as grudges and bygones and you could brush it off like a duck brushes off water. But it wasn't for everyone. She'd tried her best to explain that to Vasilisa so if she was set to wait on Rougaru, Monster had a feeling she would be waiting a very long time. But she'd done her best. Her ears flicked back when the conversation somehow turned over to her own title as Rougaru's equal and how it was against her nature to accept someone above her but she would as long as she was second. Monster tilted her head, thoughtful for a moment. "Your rank is not for me to decide. I didn't choose this one. Rougaru gave it to me and now I just do my best to earn it. I didn't come here expecting to be a leader. I came here expecting to be respected and remembered. I have always been taught to work as if you have the rank you want that way you prove you an handle that rank. Have you talked to Rougaru yet or is that just your assumption? He may surprise you." She said with a lift of her brow. She, of course, had no idea what Rougaru would say but neither would Vasilisa if she never gave him the chance. Her brows furrowed in disappointment when Vasilisa said she was leaning toward leaving before the foal was even born. "Well, I won't try to change your mind if it's set. I can see you're troubled and I only want to help you find peace however I can. Of course, I am not Rougaru's mouthpiece but I can always be a go-between of sorts if needed." Everyone was titled to their own opinion and though it stung to have her call Rougaru an unworthy father when he would soon be meeting his first child from her, she wouldn't devalue Vasilisa's opinion. Maybe the black mare just needed some time to cool down and think about things.
