Seph shoved his hands into his pockets and shuffled along down the street, trying to ignore the wind plucking at his thin clothes. Now that his message had been delivered it was time to head back home to the mansion, but somehow... Seph considered the long, winding path back home and sighed. What he really wanted to do was look for Parth, but he still wasn't even sure where she was, and even if he did, who knew what was happening there? Seph spun on his heel, his train of thought irreversibly and immediately derailed. He picked up his pace, hurrying up to chase after his prey: a small golden-coated creature that had passed him on the street. But it had moved too quickly, with too much purpose. It had almost looked human, busy on an errand. Which, to most Shamanites, would immediately bring the mind a familiar (especially those who had familiars themselves) but Seph was a bit more like his grandmother than he knew.
The monkey disappeared into a shop and the boy paused between a barrel that was nearly as big as he was, peering over the edge. He stood there, stalk still, until... the monkey pounced up on the barrel, gesturing at him. Seph stumbled back with a gasp. The monkey gestured again.
"Why you got a squish nose?" Seph's said, his surprise already long forgotten. The monkey turned and hurried away, but Seph wasn't about to be left behind. He scampered after the monkey, down to the docks and into a building. Seph paused, blinking in the relative gloom of the building - which seemed to be mostly one big opening, with only a small office in one corner.
Seph didn't care about offices, though. He was too busy looking at what could only be a ship's skeleton. He scampered over, already contemplating how to get up on it.
