The Impact of a "No Witnesses Vote" in the Impeachment Trial

With the ulitmate outcome of the Senate Impeachment trial already being a foregone conclusion, it looks to me like a vote in the Republican-controlled Senate to call no witnesses could actually work to the benefit of the Democrats; this for the following reasons:

--- It allows the Democrats to claim a "sham trial"

--- It allows the Bolton assertions to be revealed in an uncontested (and dramatic) fashion in his upcoming book; with these assertions being revealed at a point closer in time to the election

--- It prevents anti-Biden witnesses from being called in the Senate
