I have just watched a very vocal Merlin pursuing a Crow over the backyards in my neighbourhood. The Crow was silent and flying away at a quick pace.
The Merlin then returned and perched atop a tall Norway Spruce where Crows nested last year.
I am wondering if Merlins are claiming the Crow's old nest as they are known to sometimes do. Replies:
