Groundhogs


My groundhog who lives under my barn is back. I last saw her last August. She disappeared at that time. As mid August is too early for hibernation, I assume she has winter quarters somewhere else.
This is the second time she has left and returned. She had young here last year. I guess she got pregnant while away as I never seen anotheradult around here
Does anyone have a Groundhog spring emergent date? I think they must have been out for awhile. I recall once seeing a Groundhog climbing a slanted tree to eat the buds while Spring snow was still about in patches. Early March.
