Sonorae
Sonorae continued to study the young palomino stallion. He certainly wasn't what she had expected to find in the Commons. She'd thought of this day often enough, but had never really considered that her would-be claimer would be a colt younger and prettier than herself. Once the initial shock of his arrival wears off, Rae slowly begins to realize that despite his sudden appearance, he hadn't closed the distance between them or made any other move toward her person and she slowly begins to relax.

A derisive snort is her initial reaction to his comment. As if a male needed protection in the fall. The change in expression leaves her features softer than before, and a tiny stretch of her muzzle belies the smallest softening toward the golden stallion. This disappears immediately as another stallion approaches and Rae scuttles sideways so that she is equidistant from both of them, her ears once more buried in her mane.

This stallion looks much more like the nameless figure she's expected as a claimor her whole life. Solid, big, muscly and above all else, confident. He inserts himself easily into their stilted conversation and it puts her back on edge and she doesn't reply to his comment immediately, instead letting Verrat's voice fill the quiet.

Before she answers the golden colt, she looks upon the tobiano with suspicion. "I don't think many predators will saddle you with a baby you don't want against your will. I'd gladly take a scar from some predator over some man impressing his will on me against my own desires."

Her words were snappish and accompanied with a toss of her head as she eyed him warily. He did keep his distance, but Rae was all too aware of how quickly one could close such a distance. Ironically, having two stallions here made her feel both more nervous and also safer. They didn't appear to know each other, and she could only assume that if they were to try and be inappropriate that the presence of the other stallion would temper them. "At least predators are honest about their intentions."

With a sniff and a harsh look toward the larger tobiano, she turned her attention back to the golden colt, ears flicking forward in the briefest flicker of interest. "I am new to these lands, but they seem the same as any other. I'm Sonorae, not that either of you asked."
