PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

*~My Next Collison Course~*

one hundred miles an hour...

She seemed to understand readily enough about the Lagoon and perhaps even why there were mares who didn't take too kindly to stallions that associated with it. She said they didn't sound pleasant and that perhaps it was a misunderstanding. He tilted his head some at that thought. No, he didn't think it a misunderstanding, but she seemed to have such an innocent view of the world that he almost wished he think such as well. She continued, saying how natural it was for stallions to covet mares and that a band of them was as strange as a band of mares. She mentioned a stallion named Kestrel and his ears pricked in curiosity. What was so special about this stallion? Finally he nodded. "I suppose some could call it strange, though I've seen my share of both. They called the herds of mares Maiden Bands where I came from. Kestrel, did he come here voluntarily to live?" Then he offered a small smile.

She asked about the trinkets and he could only give a shrug. "I did not have much interaction with the mares in the Lagoon besides one that was definitely not there by choice and another that I met on the outskirts. She wasn't a trinket but she had a history with bachelor herds and felt safest there so I offered sanctuary. Unfortunately, I found out that she was traded off to another stallion while I was away in the battle on Luthien so I must go find her at some point and make sure she is safe." He hadn't planned to just tell the first horse he ran into about Shenzi, but the urgency still ran in his blood to go out and find her. He hated not knowing what happened to her and the words of Noctis did little to comfort him. He knew she couldn't give him authority to leave and find Shenzi but perhaps she could still help. Maybe she knew someone who could leave and find her.

He knew better than to ask her in her current situation. She had an unborn foal to think about and he wouldn't dare think to endanger an innocent life. Maybe this Kestrel was worth talking to. If he was a volunteer, maybe he could come and go in the Peak. Otherwise, Collision might have to find someone higher up in the chain. He'd have to tell them of Shenzi's worth, make them feel motivated to help her because she was a mare, not because she was his friend. He knew better than to try that approach with the way most of them here felt about the Lagoon. His jumble of thoughts came back to Rhadra as she said she was still new and that she decided to winter here. She said she liked it here and she'd never seen mountains before. When she asked if it was his first time here, he found himself nodding. "Yes, this is my first time at the Peak."

She told him the heights were amazing and that she would show him her favorite spot. Surprised but appreciative, Collision smiled wider at her bright laughter as she moved past him, brushing her shoulder against his and he couldn't help but think to himself that maybe it wouldn't be so bad here for a little while. If there were other mares like Rhadra here who wouldn't treat him like a mysogonistic bastard just because he was a member of the Lagoon, maybe he could be happy here...eventually, of course. He wouldn't be able to relax until he found out about Shenzi. She had been his goal when he left Kendry in the Forest. Even if he never made it back to meet Kendry again in the Thicket, he at least needed to know she was safe and happy, wherever she was. Shaking away the thoughts for now, Collision turned to follow the mare up the slopes and toward the very top. It wasn't easy climbing but he followed her example, watching the way she moved over the rocks and paths and mimicking her to the best of his abilities.

The last thing he wanted was a big fall. His ears pricked, listening as she spoke of where they were going, how she liked to look out and see everything. He smiled in happiness for her. Finally she stopped and he paused beside her, glancing at her in question when she told him to go on and look. For a moment, he couldn't help but wonder if someone would bring a prisoner up here to execute them, push them off the very edge and watch them hit the bottom of the mountain. It didn't sound like a very peaceful death. With a shiver, he shook away the dark thoughts and studied the delight in her pretty features. There was nothing to show she would trick him so he knew he needed to relax and enjoy the moment with her. Letting out a breath, he nodded and stepped past her, stopping at the very edge to look out over the expanse rolling out before him. It literally took his breath away as his lips parted and he looked around, eyes widening as he took it all in. Awe glistened in his brown gaze before he turned to her as she stepped up beside him.

"Thank you. It truly is a sight to behold. Beautiful. I don't know if I'd ever leave this platform until my stomach started rumbling for food." He said with a small smirk, his eyes twinkling.
