PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Eventually her daughter stirs, and Rhadra watches with wonder as the filly’s eyes flutter open, clear and bright and brown. Gangly-legged she may be, but hesitant she is not. The girl scrambles to her feet before Rhadra has even had a chance to collect her own energy to rise and stands staring out across the field, tiny tail flipping. The black mare heaves herself up, pain rippling through her haunches, and stands on trembling legs. Her daughter is oblivious to the labored breathing of her mother and wheels to feed, ducking her head under her mother’s leg and latching on with every sign of a healthy appetite.

Rhadra focuses on her next inhale and seeks to distract herself by counting the wildflowers sprawling across the mountain meadow. Her eyes are drawn belatedly to a familiar figure standing nearby and a smile dazzles her face as she recognizes him. “Collision!” She calls, prompting a wet, startled snort from her daughter. With the filly momentarily dislodged from her teat, Rhadra takes the opportunity to stride through the grass to meet the painted stallion. Her bay newborn follows closely, and resumes feeding as soon as her mother has stopped moving.

“Collision,” she says again, still smiling as she noses her daughter’s hip. “Look.” Her giddiness is softer now, lacking the hard-edged energy that spurred her up the slopes as she introduced him to a couple of her favorite places on the mountain, but she is no less luminous from joy. She is glad to see Collision, too. Rhadra did not expect to feel this tired. “Her name is Isabella, though she’s a little small for it now. Maybe Izzy to start,” she says thoughtfully, then gives her fine head a shake and trains her eyes on his. “How has your stay with us been, since we’ve last seen one another?”
