He loved all the new life coming to the Desert recently. His father was so down after losing the two mares and the filly; he thought he might lose his father too at one point. But thankfully the draft stallion found a mother and son and brought them to the Desert to save his half brother, Carbon, and now the black colt was brimming with life and regaining muscle tone and liveliness. He was acting like a colt again and Akello couldn't be happier. Cain even seemed to be pepping back up, watching his growing herd and the mares who dared to venture into the wasteland herd they called the Desert. Life was going on and Akello wanted to meet everyone. When he came across the unfamiliar scent at the borders, the yearling colt assumed he needed to investigate. Sure, he could leave it to his father, but what was the fun in that?
He took off in a lope across the sandy dunes, his dark tail waving out behind him as he looked around for a horse that's smell of the Desert. She smelled of the sand, still, though, like maybe a neighboring herd? When he finally set eyes on the black mare running across the dunes, he grinned in excitement, tossing his head with a swish of his tail before he took off to meet her. As he got closer, he let out a whinny of greeting, his ears pricked and his brown eyes glowing. "Hi! I'm...Akello!" He yelled betweens strides as he galloped toward her. He made sure not to crowd her, keeping his distance but running parallel to her. "Are you new?"
