PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Ain't life just awful strange

a new world hangs outside the window
beautiful and strange
it must be I've fallen awake
I must be

Wasp did a thing.

She hadn't forgotten about Solomon, the bullish stallion who so nonchalantly chased a mare into Vulcan territory. And while he had eluded her last season - by hiding behind the likes of another mare who ran his homeland - oh, the irony - he would not swindle his way away from her a second time. Come the turn of the season, the dark bay mare hunted him down. She confronted him, and she issued a challenge.

The battle had been rough - the painted stallion was a more formidable opponent than Wasp had initially gave him credit for. But she wore the new bruises and bloodied scrapes with pride. If nothing else, she left the impression that the Peak was not to be messed with. Solomon certainly seemed like he needed that reminder.

The first mare she wished to see after the battle was Adelheid. The two hadn't had time to talk alone in some time. New responsibility sacked them at every angle. And as the weeks wore on into spring, Adelheid's pregnancy was on its way to the end. Wasp never questioned the Codebreaker about the arrangement - who the father was, whatever else. If it was important for Wasp to know, she knew Adelheid would tell her. And she was happy for Adelheid, if being a mother was important to her friend. The idea of it all still made Wasp quite squeamish. Macabre had suffered horrible pregnancies, and Wasp knew her dam had lost a foal before she was born. None of it seemed worth the risk to her, at least.

Wasp's amber gaze lit up when she finally spied Adelheid in the morning dew, just after she crossed the border back into Vulcan territory. A spindly-legged filly stood awkwardly at her side. A simper of a smile crossed Wasp's whiskered lips as she approached cautiously and she nickered sweetly to the new mother-daughter pair. "You're glowing." Wasp offered in a somewhat teasing way as she approached, but then let her gaze fall to the filly at her side. "She looks great, Adelheid."
