Welcome to the RAAF Airman Aircrew Association Message Board. It is for all to use whether airman aircrew or not, however the majority of us who frequent this message board are former or current RAAF aircrew, associates or enthusiasts who want to be 'in the know'. We must be certain, however, that we do not disclose any information which may compromise the security of the ADF or its personnel and we also must be certain not to criticise or to pass judgment on others. 'THINK' before you post, or if you aren't sure, 'DON'T POST'. When making a post, you should identify yourself by including both your Christian and surnames as well as providing a valid email address. C-130 VIETNAM ERA RESUPPLY and MEDEVACS
IP: 101.177.130.185

Request for information
C-130A & C-130E Vietnam medevac flights 1963 – 1972.

One for the real old ‘old & bolds’.

As anyone who has been to the AWM in Canberra and viewed the Vietnam era displays will note, there is basically no mention of the C-130 support or medevac flights in that display.
Philip Island, in Victoria, has the National Vietnam Veterans Museum. They have reached out to the 37SQN Association requesting assistance in providing written information and any private photos ex RAAFies may have in relation to resupply and medevac C-130s.
If anyone can assist can you please forward the info / photos to raaf37sqnassoc@outlook.com Any forthcoming paraphernalia will have the person’s name credited with supplying the info in the display.
I already have a written submission from Shorty Heffernan, any additional information / photos would be appreciated.

If we can gather sufficient information I will collate and make a submission to Air Force History & Heritage to have a similar display placed in the Vietnam era display at the AWM.
