Even after they had confirmed they did indeed know the same Ghost, Lucia didn't seem entirely convinced about Shem's good intentions. At least, she still seemed a bit tense. Shem wondered why that might have been, but then he thought about what Ghost had said: Exodus had sheltered her and left her...dependent on him. It made sense that she didn't know how to handle a stranger coming to her, even if they were connected through a mutual...friend? Shem wasn't sure that was the right word for he and Ghost, but it'd suffice. Whatever they were didn't matter that much anyway, because they were both on the same wavelength when it came to helping Lucia out of her situation. Did she have a message for Lucia? Shem grinned, glad that she'd at least opened up to the idea that he really did know her. Well, it was a message of sorts, right? He nodded, then quickly checked over his shoulder - then hers, just to be safe. He couldn't feel anybody else's presence, but that didn't exactly mean they were alone. "I do," he confirmed, his voice low as he looked into her eyes. He wanted her to recognize the seriousness of their meeting, or at least the seriousness of Ghost's request. "Her first mission was for me to find you. My second mission was to let you know that she wants you to see Taviora; it's where I'm from, and a place she wants your opinion on," he said firmly, though he did his best to grin once the words were out. It was...well, partially a lie. He had realized very quickly just how suspicious it was to ask a complete stranger to go to a pack. It was risky, dangerous, and he doubted anybody would have just accepted the idea without some kind of suspicion. He hoped that by including Ghost's wants, it'd at least give Lucia an incentive to test the waters. Ghost didn't seem like a pack wolf, but Shem felt like he might be able to navigate that point if it was raised. He straightened then, and took a moment to gather himself. It had been a while since he'd crept about the crags and grotto, and he wondered what the best way to get out of there would be - if they didn't want Exodus to find them again. At least, he figured with a glance around, there were plenty of streams and creeks between the crags and Taviora. They'd be able to cover their scents easily enough...But then again, Exodus might prove to be much more persistent than Shem gave him credit for. "I'm sure she'll meet us in Taviora if we call for her. I showed her the way there, after all. I think she trusts your judgement more than her own when it comes to packs, though," he grinned sheepishly. |
