Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

BLACK OCEAN, COLD AND DARK

Though Blue was an intimidating sight to behold, inwardly he was nervous to accompany Galexia to the Peak. Especially when the destination and reason for their mission was revealed, he almost began to regret the offer to tag along, but at this point his admiration for the small golden mare overpowered pretty much anything else. He would have followed her anywhere, no matter how scared he was.

He did try to hide it, and felt he did a fairly good job. When Galexia gave him the basic outline of her plan, he nodded stoically. He didn’t think to ask for anymore details; this already seemed complicated enough for Blue’s rather naive, sheltered view of the world and its workings. He followed his companion through the pleasant landscape of the Crossing until they reached the base of the mountain, and Blue craned his massive head to gaze up at it. He wanted to take a step back, but he did not, making an effort to shove his cowardly thoughts away. He was here to help a friend. He would not back down.

Even more concerning than the mountain, however, was Galexia’s powerful voice which suddenly rang out next to him. He had no idea anyone could be that loud! He startled slightly, his head jerking in alarm, but managed to still refrain from stepping back. Certainly this was not the wisest approach, he thought; but what did he know? Blue had known nothing of the world when he was swept away to this island. Galexia had intimidated him without even speaking when they first met, so surely anyone else would be terrified of her now. Blue was glad to be on her good side, and in the end he trusted her to handle this.

For a while there was silence. Blue’s eyes never left the mountain, and sure enough, someone came racing down the rocky path before they had waited long at all. The stallion slowed before reaching them, eyeing Blue nervously; Blue eyed him back, also nervously. Was this Galexia’s father? He offered an uncertain whicker of greeting, then turned his gaze back to his companion to see what she would do.
