She is moving with ease when he pulls alongside her, her movement hiccuped so that for a moment she was in a stumbling walk instead. When she adjusts to his arrival, a precious couple seconds needed, she flicked her ears back at the strange manner he held and the strange thing he seemed to call her. "The gulls are towards the shore, friend. As for my coat, the gods chose me and painted me in the color they most valued." Her own people hadn’t gods much to speak of, instead revering elements and other such things - though she does think about what might lay outside her quite isolated homeland.

Her eyes are as blue as his own, his color like he were once white and rolled in soot. His high steps revert her back to her formal step for a moment more before she stopped. Her tail snaps to sweep across her hocks and hook across them as she struck the natural pose. She eyes him with some curiosity and some mistrust. She is not unfamiliar with the purpose a man might find with a woman alone and while she is an amenable, compliant sort of woman… she was also quite aware of her own value. Her eyes take him in though without her mouth uttering her misgivings.

She has the thought in the back of her mind that this fellow seemed like Fire long since cleansed away by a rain, that he smelled of cold and not hot. Her tail snaps down onto her haunches for all that she does extend her muzzle out to him with wide nostrils to take in his scent. "I am called Chalice-- and though my importance has been lost for some time, it is my name all the same." Her voice is thick like honey, a rich alto that smoothed the ears hearing it if the nature of the one listening was so inclined. "Why do you look for the shorebirds in the fields?" She is cautious to watch him, prepared to be quick if his intentions came to light as something less than noble.
