here to save the princess

Once again, he was on the search for his son. Chronos was a slippery little colt and he liked to make it a game of sneak-away when it came to his parents. Dex could see Talien's spirit in the golden colt every time he looked at him and he fell more in love with both every day. Yet he grew restless. For now, they'd just been existing in Paradise, growing together as a family, but he knew Talien wanted more. He knew he did. He had no rank here, no real relationship with anyone in the herd besides his mate and child. Sometimes, he wasn't even sure the lead stallion knew he existed in the herdlands. It's not like he was a threat or anything. He had no wish for true power or to take what anyone else had, not now that he could call Talien his. She was always the only thing that mattered, the only thing he ever wanted. But that was part of the problem. With him just being a herd stallion (if even that) and her just being a herd mare, could he rightfully call her his?

His jaw clenched at the thought of the silver bay stallion that led Paradise charging in to herd his gorgeous mate away from him. He knew he would lose his cool if that ever happened. He would lose control of the beast just beneath the surface. Sighing, he shook his head and continued making his way through the thick jungle. He wondered if he would come across any of the other herd members this time. Maybe one of them had seen his son, Chronos. How hard could it be for a golden colt to hide in a jungle?
