Was I left behind?
Tell me, tell me I survived.

My copper ear lobes swivel forward and back as the mare shies away from my approach. I amble slowly to a halt then, keeping a good amount of distance between us. There I settle in, relaxing completely. I watch her with a wide, but weary eye, trying my best to be disarming. She speaks, which is encouraging. Her pointed words help me navigate what she likely experienced before I arrived. I can't smell a lick of a place on her besides the Crossing Isle. Perhaps she's been here a while... a while longer than she planned.

It makes no sense to me, seeing how hungry the younger stallions were these days to build sizable herds. There was this great - albeit shallow - need to boast big numbers, as if claiming and forcing others into your land made you more of a man in some way. I snorted quickly at the thought. How this dainty one slipped through the cracks, I don't know. But maybe there was more grit to her than meets the eye.

"Nobody is looking for me, that's for sure." I said with a half-smirk across my whiskered lips. "Not on the Crossing anyway." My red tail flicks over my haunches while my expression settles into something much more amused. "This place is a drag, isn't it?" I offer, allowing my gaze to drift over the open pasture we stood in, and out toward the mountain Peak in the distance. "Always somebody struttin' around thinking they something the rest of us don't." I snort again and toss my head, my knotted mane lapping at my thick neck. "In reality, no one here knows anything."

A short bout of silence spans between us, and I suck in another short breath. "I'm Shamwari." I say next. "So what are you doing here?"
